there was one of these made in this colour as a birthday present for Dr Porsche iirc. is this the same one?
for the OP, DP motorsport made a batch of those from 924 turboswith 944 guards. Do a search on the forums. Most pics are of that silver one and a blood red car.
the blue one with the GT flares i believe was made by ARTZ who shoehorned that 928 engine/drivetrain and interior into a widened VW Golf.
{edit: lol, should have clicked on its pic lol} _________________ '86 944 |

Has anyone else seen that 928 6 wheeled pick up truck? Some german guy made one. It supposedly performs better than the origional. _________________ 1978 924 NA

No. The one presented to dr Porsche was one off factory made. the roof line was different, more fluid and looked nicer. I saw a picture somewhere, with the car and mr Porsche at the presenting party. |

apparently they called it the Porsche 942
Quote: |
The 942 a one-off concept car presented to Ferry Porsche by the company on his 80th birthday. Based on a 928, the car was basically custom made for him as a birthday surprise. Porsche sure knows how to handle birthdays doesn't it... The elongated 928 was tailored from a hatchback into a station wagon type coupe. Odd, but strangely appealing. The black headlights and rear seats add a nice touch. Only one is in existence, and is currently residing in the Porsche factory museum. |
