Another tip: The Picture Of The Day (POTD) is exactly that - ie it's there for a day (hence POTD - gettit?) before moving on... so comments on the POTD become irrelevant and confusing very quickly (ie after about a day!) if you don't grab a permanent reference to the pic you are talking about...!

Cheers gang, can see I'm gonna spend lots of time in here. Standard spec '83 924. Rescued it from an old dear that kept in in garage for 8 years 'cos she didn't like fact that it didn't have power steering or an auto box.

Now it's my daily driver, fixing all the bits that were just irritating, and now a major pain in the wotsit.

CD, alarm, central locking, sat nav...aint ebay wonderful........

Starting on the engine tweaks as time and budget permits.

I want to thank everyone for making this site what it is. I've been lurking around for a couple weeks now, and finally registered. There is an enormous wealth of knowledge here.

My name is Danny, and I live in a little hole in the wall called Kingman Arizona. I work for Honeywell in the aerospace division. I spent 8.5 years in the Army as a mechanic so wrenching is nothing new to me. I also have had countless air cooled VW buses and bugs. But I'm guessing this 924 will be a completely different beast.

I picked up a 78 924 yesterday. It's had a hard life, but I want to do my best to bring it back to life. The body is suprisingly straight, but the interior has seen better days (Arizona sun and heat). I was told it's fuel pump is shot. I'll get a battery in it soon to see if it actually works. The first thing I need to do is to get it running, and then go from there.

Here's a pic of it.

Welcome.

You'll probably find more in there that you'd recognise from VW work than you might think...

Anyway, good luck and have fun!

Hello there all.
It's good to see such a forum exists for all of us who have trusted, and played with, 924's.
I spent a few good hours reading thru different sections here, and one thing I found the most surprising, was the friendship and fun you ALL display and reply with to each other...
not seen anywhere else!!
Enough for my first post here.
Thanks all
Ricardo

Welcome aboard RVJ.

When you have some time you should post some pictures of your car.
