Went and dove straight in guys... read all over the web, read here, read everywhere...
On the right track? Crazy? Stupid? Should buy other parts?
Let me know your feedback...
This here's the DANIMAL's conversion from FI to EFI...
Fuel rail from a 1993 Ford Escort
Amazing fit, fits perfectly in the injector holes...
Plus another 1993 had the complete EDIS4 Ford Electronic Ignition System
So... now to buy A fuel regluator, trigger wheel & Megasquirt kit...
Set to go?
Hmm...

the fuel regulator's already on the fuel rail you bought...the vacuum line's hanging off of it. you can get the Ford spring clamps to attach to the fuel rails in both -AN and barb fittings, too.
kinda cool find. i mean, it's nice to know that Skoda and Vauxhall parts fit but we got bunches of them thar escorts around here! |

Cool!
Was it from the 1.9L Ford engine or the 1.8L Mazda engine? _________________ 1979 924 (Gone to a better place)

did you pickup a VR sensor for that EDIS system when you got it?

nice find on the rail, may want to consider flipping it around though so the fuel lines go towards the correct side and arn't over the exhaust. _________________ Custom means it didn't come from a box.

Yeah Actually I had a few questions...
I want to put that thign to the back (RE: fuel lines) but there's some thing bolted to the intake and has a rubber hose going to the throttle body but i'm not sure if i can move it or not.
Also, looks like the fuel presssure regulator has some kind of wire on it, not sure where that can get wired to...

Actually, more stupid questions..
Should I use the ford escort injectors? Can they handle my setup or should i use a different brand/make/type? Should I buy new ones or use the ones i got from the wrecker?
I found out how to wire my regluator

that's a 1.9 fuel rail (91-96). a 3-bolt mustang FPR bolts right in. If anyone else wants one I've have about 4 of them. You could also get a 2.0 SPI fuel rail (97-2002) and it will line up the same, but it has the FPR mounted perpendicular to the rail so it might be easier to adjust.
The escort injectors are #15 high impedance. Pretty small, so it depends on how much power you are putting out.
Also, there is no wire going to the FPR, it's a vac line. _________________ --Alex--

according to http://www.megamanual.com/v22manual/minj.htm thats enough flow for 102 horsepower. So, probably not large enough. But depending on what kind of FPR you get you may be able to adjust the base pressure to get a bit more headroom and use them for awhile.

Sounds like your aav (auxilary air valve) and you can move it where ever you like. Your doing a custom injection setup, so, you can really do whatever you want for most stuff.

I would go for larger injectors, don't sell yourself short at this stage!
Injectors are only a few $$ form somethign bigger. 21lb/hr+ is what your after I would say. I had some injectors with the rail I used that was off a 1.6 I think and they maxed out very very quickly, they were something daft like 12lb/hr. they were up to 80% duty at 3k rpm. My 21lb/hr cream tops cost £20 and are no where near maxed, the peak (Apart form accel enrich) at about 70% at 5.5k.
Sort them now, then forget them until you hit big power _________________ 1994 Lotus Esprit S4 - Work in progress...

Pretty much any ford injector bolts in...although some are "tall" (what the 1.9 injectors are) and others are "short" (2.0 injectors). I ran #42 Ford Racing Injectors in my escort, they bolt right in (Bosch Greentops, came in Ford Lighting).
Here's a good site that lists injectors...just determine what size you think you'll need. http://www.nitrostreet.com/injectors.htm _________________ --Alex--

Oh and don't worry about that fuel rail not flowing enough..I've personally run over 200whp on it, and i know someone running 275whp on a 2.0 one
Just in case anyone else wants to use one of these rails on a 931. _________________ --Alex--

The main concern I would have about running this on a 931 would be boost blowing it off the head; no good way to securely tie it down.
I'm going to just make my own out of standard rail extrusion... _________________ Vaughan Scott
