Hi there, I have been pestered by all on the 924 Pelican board to come over here and say hello - so here I am
I am at heart a 911 man, but recently ended up with a 924 project that i will son get stuck into - when new baby, work and life gives me time to do so...
Here is a pic of the car as I found it when I drove down to collect it.

The story to date can be found in more detail here.

As said, I am more of a 911 man - apart from the 944 I had many years back, so get ready for a lot of questions as i work threw this car.

Welcome! Join us! Cool story so far....Good lunchtime read... Another 924 rescue mission = ] Woohoo!

The guys on this board are very helpful indeed.

Oh..a hint... you can save time......as most of the questions you might have are probably answered already....probable like your 911 board.

I use the "search" function on this site most of the time. It rocks.

Eg. say i want to find out about the wiper relay, i'd put these three words into the search box:

wiper and relay

...then hit enter.

Hope that helps!
regards
Tiny

Welcome to the board, the body looks in good shape so the fun will be getting it running like you want. Don't be afraid to ask, most of the guys here have see or heard it all before.

Thank you all for the warm welcome, I look forward to getting to know you all a lot better.

Chrenan, I figured I should come over here where the real 924 people hang out

Progress will be slow on this one as work and family will come first. Additionally I am trying to do the restoration on a budget, so locating the correct parts at a good price will probably take a long time. I will be posting a shopping list shortly, and hope there are a lot of you that are looking to clear out your garage with old-no-longer-required parts

My plan for the car (if the budget will permit) is a CGT replica with a turbo or sc. The car will be repainted when the body work is completed, and at the moment flat black with red stripe is top choice - in keeping with the company colours I also plan a custom interior, but have not done the designs yet. But first step is getting the car clean and rust free

If it is OK with you all, I do not really want to start copying posts all over the internet, so for general updates I will post a summary here and give a link to the details - I hope that is OK

OK, here is the shopping list. At the moment short, but it will grow!

The body is actually quite good. I will have to do some fabrication work and welding, but I have seen a lot worse... The engine is also strong. The car has not been driven that much - I am the 3rd owner, I know the second owner and the first was an old lady

I have already started the car and taken it fro a drive - only the lack off stopping power did not make me feel to happy

The main problem is from underneath. With all god intentions, the past owner did not realise the effect of parking a car on the grass for two years in a Nordic country - lots of moisture has had time to work under there - I see a complete front and rear suspension replacement in my future... Good excuse for a 944 suspension upgrade

OK, I have made some progress on this project...

Obtained all the replacement suspension parts etc from a 944, so a bit of an upgrade at the same time

And I have given that dirty engine a really good clean.

Why is your battery on the driver side of the car?
