Stage One: 23mm and 19mm factory sway bars, quality shocks, bushing refresh
Stage Two: Stiffen torsion bars, add coilover sleeve kit to front strut housings, stiffen front springs.

Info to get you thinking is found HERE.

Stage three: Late model 944 strut mounts to lower the car 1", 944 alloy rear suspension, front hubs, brakes, wheels, reindex torsion bars to lower rear.
Step four: 30mm torsion bars, stiffer front springs, racing struts and shocks, strut tower bar, camber plates, faster ratio steering rack.
Step five: Fender flares/944 body work, wider wheels, tires, more power, better gearing, possibly solid suspension bushings (not for the street)

Somewhere in all of this you'll likely want to replace the bushings, balljoints and toe-rod ends. Have the suspension aligned after any major work is performed. Don't forget to adjust the rear drum brakes (4 adjusters total), bleed the brake fluid on a regular basis and use good quality pads on new rotors and be sure to bed them in properly.

Finally an aftermarket steering wheel and a properly mounted Recaro or other performance seat combined with performance driving classes will help you be more comfortable at using what you have and where you or the car might be lacking. Look at 911 parts for seats and wheels since they can sometimes be found cheap after they've upgraded themselves (or slid backwards into a tree/guardrail, heh)

Good luck!

You want the 968 unit for the rear. 19mm adjustable, and dirt cheap new from the dealer.

944 333 071 01 - 968 M030 Rear Sway Bar, 19mm adjustable.

You will need to research (by using the Search feature, above) how to mount the bar if your car lacks one.

The 23mm front can probably be obtained from a good junkyard like PartsHeaven, or from someone here parting a 924 with the correct options (M471, or 81-82 Turbo).

The car already has both a front and rear sway bar. I am sure its just gona be a streight swap, may be with a little modification. Its just to bad that there isn't enought room under the hood for a strut bar. Just ran accrost how to lower the rear w/o changeing the struts. Sinc I am extreemly poor ATM I wil be doing all the little stuff I can. A local junk yard is currently obtaining a 968 for me to scavange parts from so i wll be getign some things cheap.

Anyone know if the 968 spoiler is compatible with the 924S body? I've always liked the look of the 968 spoilers and was looking into upgrading my 924S's little spoiler to either a 968 or 944's.

If it is, and if you, Nicoflow, don't need the spoiler off that 968 you locate (and if you don't mind) could you see about getting a price on that piece for me? That's also assuming the 968 still has its spoiler intact...

Gack, I know that 'tuners' are in love with strut bars, but what do you think will happen if one is installed on a car with rubber upper strut mounts?

Hint: NOTHING.

You're right. Since the rear has no upper mounts, they aren't rubber.

But, as Rasta mentioned, the front upper mounts are rubber, and as he points out too, a strut bar isn't going to make a difference unless you are showing off under the hood, just like adjustable upper mounts.

If you're on a race track with slicks that's one thing, but I doubt that's your game.
