I want to lower the rear by reindexing the torsion bars. A read this article on the forum:

http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=19005&highlight=torsion

But I assume if I dont't want to swap the torsion bars it is far less work ?

Has anybody done this before, and how much tooth do have to re-index the bars ?

My cars has -30 mm lowering springs in the front.

if this is a track car or even astreet car that is not a garage queen , then you can reindex in about 20 minutes , see 9 magazine fron several months back , requires cuttin a 2 to 3 inch hole in rocker outside the t bar carrier end plate , and drilling at least one t bar in place for 3/8 course threads if you are interested let me know Jesse

what does that mean ? btw changed ride height on rear of my 924s last week with LT helping did not take anything loose , took 10 minutes for both sides , took longer to take off wheels and put them back than anything else Jesse

yes that is pulling the t bars out and replacing them at a different ride height , it is very easy once you get the hang of it . of course both of my t bars are drilled and tapped for 3/8 course thread ,, ONCE AGAIN YOU NEED TO HAVE A 2 TO THREE INCH OPENING IN ROCER PANEL JUST FORWARD OF WHEEL WELL lOOK AT OLDER CARS CAME FROM FACTORY LIKE THIS it is really important to have a friend move hub while you reinsert the t bar , you need to see the splines but other than it is easy ! will be glad to email you pics or just go to 9 magazine the copy with the porsche designed boat on cover , this is online mag. Is this any different or easy on a 924S? How much of a difference in handlaing does it make and what is the disadvantage if you are rearended by an american car?

my car is a 924s , you can set the ride height of the car however you like I would think getting rear ended by any largecar would result in about the same problems , that is not a Ralph Nader 5 mile and hour test but a real wreck . you will most likely trash your porsche or need a welding expert and a parts car

not a lot of differrence instreet car with stock t bars , however if you up your front and rear spring rate , it really makes a lot of difference, becareful not to lowere your car so much that you run out of shock travel , thenthe handling will be dangerous, and not any ore pleasant than riding on a board, I like the 225 to250 lb springs in front and 25.5 to 27 mm tbar in rear , keeps the car fun on street still handles well on track
