Not only does it RUN, it DRIVES, too! Took it to a gas station to fill up, and then drove around for a bit. It makes a lot of noise, there's an oil leak somewhere around the exhaust manifold, and it could really use a shower, but there's definetely more than enough power to move the damn thing.

One thing I noticed, with default 36lb/hr injector settings, my A/F ratio at "idle" (~1600rpm) was... 7. I reduced my req_fuel from 8.8 to 7, and that made it run better, but I didn't check my a/f ratio afterwards. Also, for some reason, my wideband shows pretty erratic values at the analog outputs, but works great when hooked up to the laptop.

On the good side, the engine made it over 100kpa without exploding, and I don't even have a BPV installed yet. Heck, my charge pipe is sealed with duct tape right now.

Duct tape is like the Force - it has a light side, a dark side, and it holds the universe together...

Regardless, it runs better now than it ever did. Megasquirt rocks.

7:1 afr at idle is really rich.. unless you are running e85 or something?

This is why I was surprised. I thought the built-in injector calculator was pretty accurate, but it was off by about a half. As in, I'm supposed to be getting half the fuel in there. Either the calculator is wrong, or Bosch made some monster brown-top injectors, which I doubt.

Either way, I'm surprized it ran at all with that ratio. Didn't make any black smoke or anything, either.

When you said "7" I thought you meant your VE bin value. What is the bin value your running at idle? What kind of WB do you have that will read that much fuel?

I think the 951 tranny is a straight swap for your tranny. You never know what a tranny will need for parts till you tear it down and look. You may need every bearing and seal or you may just need that one syncro.

The WB is by Innovate. Now that I think of it, I'm not sure that "7" was an a/f ratio, could have been oxygen level (???). I haven't gotten as far as tuning the idle much yet - I just set it to about 1500rpm and left it at it. Yesterday I moved the car to its new place, where I should finally get a chance to fine-tune it. But first, I need to fix my oil and exhaust leaks - it smells HORRIBLE.

If I remember correctly, the Innovate wide band only reads to 9.0:1 in the gas function; it may go lower for different fuel types.

If your idle is around 1500 that would allow for a richer AFR and still able to run.

exhaust leaks will effect the readings on your wideband. Glad to hear another person has gotten their 924 megasquirted.

IIRC my WB goes from something like 7.35 to 22.something. My exhaust leak is at the wastegate, so it shouldn't significantly affect readings... Either way, I plan get it all fixed over the next couple of weeks, hopefully this will let me tune the car without getting smoked out
