|
So....who's in ?!
This thing was playing in my mind for a while now...and there it is:
We should meet next year. We will set the dates so its good for everybody. And we should start the talk from now so everybody has time to prepare and plan ahead.
I think that germany would be the best place for a meeting for everybody since its kindof the midle. However if anyone has ideeas...please share.
The summer would be best for all i think....its realy great to drive the 924 with the open top in the summer.
i'll give you my perspective. we drive to germany...stay there for a couple of days....set up some meetings...show'n'shine events for ourselves and whoever wants to look, find a decent circuit and rent it for a few hours...do some laps...have fun...barbeq...beer...sleep....go home..post pictures for the ones who could not make it. _________________ https://www.the924.com

I love the idea.
Germany is totally doable (however...germany is bigggg) but still doable.
My conditions are:
- My porsche has to run good. (well, that could be managed if I don't encounter money draining problems).
- I need to have the time, but that'll be no problem unless I'm on holiday.
Can't guarantee anything yet, but I'd love to see your 24 morghen! _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

for me it's big
There's a lot of difference between a meeting in west-germany or east...
I know the US is bigger and australia isn't small too... but I'm from Holland _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

I think Germany is about the size of Texas. Back when I used to travel between AZ and IL twice a year, we would swing through Lower Texas. Could get across it in a day. Why am I talking about Texas??
I want to come to your porsche party too, but I am going to need bigger tires to cross the Atlantic. _________________ 87 924s

lots of traffic jams in the amsterdam region...
can be done, that's no problem.
I'm in for the nurnburg ring! you may want to refresh your brake fluid a couple of friends had some troubles on the ring with their old fluid and that's not as fun as it sounds _________________ "Rule: Turbo's make torque, and torque makes fun." (C. Bell)

It's doable, right now count me in! I'll tell arx also about it and try to convince him to do that. _________________ '83 924 2.6 16v Turbo, 470hp

I'd love to make it. Long way on my own though (I'm almost at the bottom of Spain) so a convoy would be good! Meet up anywhere? _________________ 1978 924na |

Good idea,
some thoughts...
hopefully it´s not ending the same way as the Fernie/BC meeting!?
For europe, germany is a good location. The Nürburgring would be fine, but,it s not easy to reserve a trackday or a half.Beside the cost`s.....
There are a lot of things to do.
1.Make it a sticky
2.Vote for location
3.Vote for the Date
4.Sign up for all willing to attend.
5.Set up a programm
6.find accomodation
7. estimate costs
Question:Only for board members,or to all 924 drivers out there...?

Why reserve a track day? Usually you just go on the ring when others are on it too. Does everyone want to go on it with only the 924's? For me it's not a problem if bikes and (way) faster cars are on the ring too... it's my first time so I guess it's enough fun just to have been on the track with you guys and fight over who was a second faster
Ooh I have to fix my porsche asap... it's better if I get a 6 month test drive before a big road trip.
