how much will it's handling hold is the more imptortant factor, unless u are gonna put carrera gt suspension on the car 300 HP will probably make u go around corners slower than before. |

About 400 HP. I've heard 375 HP for the 924 tranny and 425 for the 944. I'm just ballparking it here. Porsche overengineered that setup. It's nearly IMPOSSIBLE to break from torque alone.

The Rate at which the synchros wear is affeced isn't it? i couldn't imagine 400 HP on a 944 driveline being ok for a few weeks and then GRONCH. |

Yes, I would imagine that driver shifting behaviour would affect synchro life a lot Lars. I think in these ratings they're just referring to max horsepower. I think it was John Brown who quoted me these numbers.

How much HP can we hold??

Not much, horses are kinda heavy:)
The real question is how much turque can the drivetrain handle since it's the turque that breakes parts. |
