this is all in the FAQs,
why should we NOT refer you to them? Were they written for a reason? do a search and RTFAQ first.

parts from a 1986 will not work for a 5 bolt conversion.

How could I have said it more better?

Search and read what's called "Asked Questions and then ask by posting.

And by the way posting a new thread is the longer way of getting the info.

Well, I replied because I was in OPs position not long ago, and found the information in the FAQ and Tech Section a bit difficult to sift through due to organizational. . .um, "issues" - there is not a simple parts list anywhere to be found.

My two cents.

rasta

P.S. Good day to you, as well!

Always click "Search for all terms" when searching with more than 1 word and you want topics that include all of them. In the case of "5 bolt conversion", with "Search for all terms" selected, you get a mere 147 topics to sift through.
Here's an enjoyable one - http://www.924board.org/viewtopic.php?t=15544

You also may need to replace the trailing arms.
If you have the lighter ones use them, save a bit of weight.

Optional, it all bolts to the existing suspension, including axle stubs.

If you have a 79 or earlier 924, you should upgrade to the 23mm+ master cylinder of the 80 and later 924 and 931. If you have an early 924, and use the 80 master cylinder, then you don't have to change your stoplight wiring. If you have a early 924, and use a 81 or later 924 or 931 master cylinder, you must switch to the stoplight switch on the brake pedal used on the later 924, 924S and 944.

You can use the front and rear brake calipers from any 944 (82-8. The rear calipers are the same for all 924, 924S, and 944 models up to 88. Some people claim that you can't use 944 front calipers, because the 944 calipers used a different size piston bore on them, and used a master cylinder with a stepped cylinder diameter. The fact is that 924 and 931 models 80-85, and 944 (82-83) used the same 477 prefix front calipers, even though the 924 and 931 used the same straight diameter 23mm master cylinder for both disc/drum cars and four wheel disc cars. After 84 944 and 924S used front calipers with a 944 prefix, but they used the same master cylinder as the earliest 944. The earliest 944 (82-83) used the same stepped master cylinder as later 944, but they still used the same front calipers as the 924 and 931. The last 944 and 924S used a different master cylinder that the 924, 931, earlier (82-86) 944.

924S (86 and later) and 944 (85/2 and later) with alloy rear trailing arms use different length (longer) rear wheel axles and eliminate the spacers that were used on early 944 and 924 and 931 cars with four wheel disc brakes. So you can't easily use the rear wheel axles from a 85/2 944 or 924S with changing to the alloy rear trailing arms.

I recommend installing seal kits in any used caliper before installing. Rotors only have 1.5mm to 2.0mm of wear thickness when new. It makes more sense to buy new rotors, then to buy used rotors, and paying for shipping when they probably are already worn-out.

Don't mean to dump on you Gohim, but I have a 1980 931 with front calipers I can't rebuild cause the piston is a different diameter than later 931's and 944's. I may have a strange car cause it dosen't have a rear sway bar and some other items that apparently were standard items on 931's. Anyway, after these calipers fail I'm gonna find a 944 parts car and switch everything from the clutch back to the 931. At the very least it will make parts easier to find.
