|
|
| I have a 1977 model 924 and need a new coil for the car. When I check the local parts places, they either do not carry coils for our cars, or they want $69 US. My question is will coils from other cars work with the Porsche? I understand I need one for electronic ignition - therefore are coils rated differently for each car (output). If so have any of you on the board used a different (read that as less expensive) coil on your cars? Must I bite the bullet and get a "Porsche" only coil? Thank you. |

Don't waste your money. Older German coils are really all the same. Just get one from a 1980s VW or Audi. Avoid used coils that have oily residue at the seam near the top. Should be $5/US from any junk yard.
