I'm in the process of installing Ohio Automat carpet in my car. This was purchased at Performance Products. Anyone who is contemplating this, make sure your calender is cleared. There are no holes cut in the carpet: shifter, seatbelts, rear light, radio support...nothing. A crankshaft is easier to stretch than this carpet. Even after spending an hour smoothing the carpet out over the bare floor, I still have bags and sags. There are no snaps for the rear mat(I guess they don't exist anymore), there is no place to put the cargo light. This is turning into a HUGE project, I wish I had left the faded carpet alone.

a soldering iron might make it easier to make the holes, it will melt through the plastic and leave the edges sealed so they dont fray. a craft store, K Mart should have grommets that are used for tarps to run cord through the holes for hanging and stringging up a tarp or canvas like these plastic ones

I sometimes wonder if it would be easier to go to your local carpet warehouse and just pick your favourite colour. Once you cut to shape using the original as a pattern, a lot of shops will edge for a small fee. Got to be a lot cheaper. You could even use real wool.

Diesel, don't feel too bad. I ordered directly from OAM, and they sent me the WRONG color! This is AFTER the package got delayed. I had to send the wrong one back.....and now I'm waiting for the right color. I've been waiting to install new carpeting for almost 2 months now.

I've got everything layed out...and I'm missing both kickpanels(where the hood latch is and the other side). What a PITA.

Update on my OAM carpet installation- FINALLY got the new carpet from OAM. The color is perfect, and upon a test fitting it worked quite well, doesn't need to be stretched like the first kit I got. It didn't come with inserts for the footwells (like where the hood release is). But good news (pay attention Diesel ). The person I spoke to when ordering said it might be possible to have them made or just have a roll sent to me that I can cut the shapes out of myself, but I'll have to call again Monday. I'll let you know about that.
I'm also taking pictures as I go which should be posted within a week or so. After the passenger area is done, I'll order the cargo area carpeting and put that in.

Have you got a phone number for OAM? The bastards at Perf. prods. won't give me their number. I'm still waiting for the stupid kickpanels. After the thousands I spent with those clowns, nice customer service. Never again.

I think companies like Tweeks & P.P. sell a different specification carpeting. For example, if I had ordered a brown or black carpet from them, it wouldn't have been the same brown or black as ordering directly from OAM. (I had swathes sent from everyone, none matched, yet they all claimed to be supplied from OAM). Pricing is also different.
Phone is 513-934-0815....the people at customer service are very nice.
