The rule on racing seats is good if you are going to be tracking and have a 4-6 point racing harness and rollcage/bar,
if you arent tracking it and do take longer drives in it, then the stock seats are way more comfy. _________________ 3 928s, |

I just put in a pair of 3A Racing seats, they were a bitch to get in. Some one at one point welded on extenders to rails and used the wrong kind of bolts with made it near in possible to get out, and then the racing seats were a little wide for the car.
PS they also way 10lbs more each than my stock seats. _________________ 1987 924S Guards Red

wow!! thats a huge difference!!!
ive been looking at getting these wrx seats as a cheaper alternative to race seats. i will eventually get proper race buckets but for now i need 2 new seats and 2 x wrx seats < 1 x race seat, money wise.
anyone know if they'll fit??
heres a different colour one so you can see the detail. theyre far more supportive than stock seats!

they should fit as long as they're not physically wider than the porsche seat.
I've a set of recaro seats out of an EVO 4 in one of 924's. These fitted like a dream - just had to drill a new hole in the top runner of the seat rails to match the EVO mounting point.
When I installed mine I laid a steel plate over the mounting holes in the floor to get the hole spacing correct. Bolted the runners to this and and then use this as a template to fit the seat _________________ Remember a Porsche is not just for Christmas,

I have factory sports seats and they're very nice.
If you insist on getting "racing seats", get an entry level tube steel seat, I would recommend the Sparco Speed seats. They're designed as a street sports seat, so you can drive for a few hours without feeling sore. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

You get what you pay for. If it reclines, it's not a racing seat, it's a street seat. Save your pennies and get the Sparco Speeds or the Corbeau Forza, which are a little cheaper. Also, Sparco is one of the best names in seats, so even their entry level products are superb. _________________ '81 931 in various states of assembly |

I know cbass ... there what about 500 bucks or 350.
heres what schucks kragen auto parts has in leatherette or
leatherette & cloth only in black. The leatherette material
seems to be a really thick vinyl almost at least 1/4 inch.
I downloaded the pic & enlarged & lightened it.
I even enclosed the website. Didnt erven have to take
my digi to the store. There listed as a racing seat Ilike
them the sliders are included also. There made by
american products company

more realistically like 3/16s tops. thicker than Ive seen
on racing seats costing double is what I meant to put accross.
they come with sliders and for the price Id a nice find.
Yours look like they got patches on them. _________________ 1979 porsche 924 Na

I actually saw the ones at Kragen when I went to get new wiper blades for my element. They do look nice. I still prefer the factory sport seats, but for the money they do look pretty good. |
