Electromotive came today- unfortunately I have to get a car moved out of the garage before I start on it so won't be until tomorrow until when I can get started on the wiring. Amazing how $2500 can fit into something so small.... ugh, I hope this resolves my issues. Ohh, and I hope it makes the car have lots of horsepower again too...

Anyhow, going to talk with my brother tomorrow who loves to do wiring and see if he wants to do the wiring- I'll have to bring the car up to his shop but if that happens we'll see how quickly things get done.

The electromotive DIS is coming off tomorrow as well as the carbs... wow this car is gonna get a major rewiring job and overhaul of wires in the next few days. There is so much to learn on this setup.

Throttle Body to Manifold Adapter plate: trying to make phone calls to have one CNC'd up for me. If people keep dropping the ball then I'm just going to use the cut off wheel myself and go at it. I want to get this thing done.

Details, details... It's amazing how much you have to do with EFI. But I'm excited to see it come together.

I was JUST thinking of updaing I'll post pics soon of some of the work, but the fuel rail is in. The current wiring harness was torn into and about half of the exsisting wires left forever. The car would freak most people out when the wiring was pulled and wires were everywhere... Not to fear, Jonny Mac is here.... and I've done this enough times.

So the ECU is ready to mount and will be done tomorrow as well as the new fuse panel and relay board for the TEC 3r. Once that is done, the wiring for the TEC 3r will be done by my brother and I'll just sit back and laugh... err, I mean watch and help.

This would be much further ahead of schedule but the project is being done in my brothers shop and I get a totally different mind-set when I am working at his place. I walk around his garage (shop) in my socks (no joke) the floor is that clean. I believe I have the one of the most dirty cars in that shop right now (you'll see from the photos soon below). You work on each project and make sure it is perfect before going onto the next step. You have 100,000 tools at your disposal, but you don't know where most are. (My dads garage I know where everything is, but everything is dirty like a normal garage- so it is kinda nice to work at my brothers shop).

Ohh, the shop at my brothers is not as well cooled and it was 93 today so it was about 80 degree's. My dads garage I have a major air conditioner in there so it's much easier to continue working hard and not burn yourself up...

Note to self- grab ice water for tomorrows work on the Porsche.

Ok, back. Yes, as I was saying... it's late. 12:08 am. Gotta be up at 8 am and run around for a while: will be at the shop by 11 am and work until 6 pm. Life is rough right now.

Some pics available...

http://bmcautos.com/porsche/projectEFI/

You'll see some of the wiring job, the fuel rail in place, the fuel pressure regulator, the GM style temp sensor and bung that has been made up, the throttle body adapter plate for the GM style TB (60 degree v6 chevy engine), MAP sensor and adapter plate for the MAP sensor...

The school of hard knocks!

I ran a Sports Car Repair shop in the 70s and 80s, worked on a lot of MGs.

So how many points does it take to earn a cold beer?

sorry about the delay in everything folks... been so busy with all the dyno and other stuff that it's taken a lot of my time.

Bought wide band for the car today- the narrow band couldn't keep up.

No numbers yet... still getting some bugs out

Don't ask how much I owe the dyno shop-- you guys would cringe... I know I have...

hopefully numbers will be able to be posted soon. I'll get ya pics within a few days along with other info.

Which Wide-Band did you decide to go with?

What size injectors are you using?

Atleast your project is still moving foward! More than mine

Todd

So how much do you owe the Dyno Shop?

Hey, im working on an EFI set up too. Im using the EFI system from a Mistu eclpise turbo.
The TB is a 60mm.
Im using 450cc injectors, however i just noticed a problem, there is no oring on the end of the injectors, I assum in the Eclpise the o-rings must be in the head, but to make it easier I need them in the Injector, as it woudl be tough to machine an oring groove in the head.
Can anyone recommend what other car to get the injectors from that has the oring on the end of the injector (like the ones on my 951) that have a 450-550cc rating?
