|
|
I can't stand the wipers in my car. they are so slow. I have replaced the motor with a brand new unit. I thinkt he wiper were just not meant to go that fast. They are just not up to the task of clearing the windshield during a medium to heavy rain. Has anybody ever attempted to upgrade the wiper system?
I wonder if a 944 motor spins faster?
I am wanting to upgrade the wiper system when I upgrade the heater system in a couple weeks. _________________ 1980 924 NA

An upgraded grounding strap for the alternator, battery, and block will all help. By upgraded I mean new and larger gauge wire. Also clean all of the smaller electrical grounds. The grounding path should be as large or larger than your main positive cable in order to carry the load of the electrical current. So bigger and new will help reduce resistance and should improve the overall electrical performance of the car. _________________ erstwhile owner of just about every 924 variant ever made |

I did mine last summer and also ordered a new rubber boot for the connector housing from Porsche.
It was a bit of a pain removing the terminals from the connector housing in order to push them through the small aperture in the rubber boot and then reinserting them into the housing.
I polished them first to get um looking like shiny new copper, dob of Vaseline too. New ground too. Looks a proper job. Shame they don't cut it as far as speed is concerned though.
Don't get me wrong, they are adequate but most other cars have faster ones. Plus we do get some rain here.
We have had 8 inches in an hour before http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SxweiRNlHbo _________________ 924 (84) N/A 2 ltr - 5 Speed - BLACK - Project (looking for 200BHP, any ideas!)
