Here are the pilot bearings that show up at autohausaz.com for 1980 924 n/a
iirc, the top two are not the correct ones. they look like the 931 pilot bearing.
Sucks, because I'm looking for the n/a one and the price is a little more on that one. I just posted this to confirm even though I'm pretty sure the top 2 wont work for an N/A car.
On alleurasianautoparts.com I found they sell the pilot bearing with housing and without housing. Here are the pictures:

Has anybody purchased the bearing without housing before? The price is much more attractive. at alleurasianaoutoparts the bearing with housing is $49.78 and the one without the housing is $4.61.
I'll have to take mine out and look at it to see what condition the housing is in, but I'm just wondering how this works. There is a rubber seal there (as part of the housing I guess). It seems like it might be a good idea to replace the rubber part. :-/ Maybe I shouldn't be cheap on this, although my pilot bearing only has about 60k miles on it. _________________ 1980 Porsche 924 N/A USA

My 80 NA 5 speed used the bearing without the housing. IIRC the larger (with housing) would not have fit into the flywheel.

hmmm. I'll have to get mine out and see. I'll do that this weekend I think. I replaced it many years ago and i remember it looking like the one with the housing I posted above.

Oh my god. Yes I have been here. All I can say really is good luck!!
There are 2 options by the book, pull the bearing out of the housing, or pull the housing out of the crank.
In my case it had been there for 27 years and the bearing had recently totally disintegrated...
I decided to pack the hole with grease and put a bolt (M17 IIRC) in to try and force the housing out (Hydraulics, clever eh?) but all it did was strip the threads out of the housing
In the end I had to invent some new swearwords and dremel the bearing out nasty job, especially as it was all covered in grease too....
The bearing you want is an SKF part: HK15162RS
It has the exact dimensions (Thank you Porsche!) and it even has 2 seals built into it (The original Porsche one only has one separate seal) I used loctite bearing sealant on it to make sure it stayed put.
Touch wood, seems to have done the trick nicely and it only cost £8, would have been £4 if I'd ordered it online but I wanted to see it.

I had to put a new one in my 77.5 last year and found it came out very easily. I got a bolt (10mm I think) and screwed it in and it pressed itself out with each turn. Pretty easy, getting the new one in.. that sucked. I don't know if this helps, but that's my go with it. Good luck, keep us posted. _________________ Michael

I looked that up on EBSRacing.com, and the only one they show is the larger assembly you picture above. . .I guess I would trust their version more. _________________ Toofah King Bad

If you just want the inner bearing without the housing then just go down to tlocal parts house and ask for a pilot bering for a 1989 Ford Ranger 2.9L V6. It is exactly the same and the number probably crosses with the SKF number Rich H posted.
Mine came out of the housing with great difficulty. I discovered this by accident while installing the same Ford clutch in my car:
