I have been plugging away at this project with all my spare time & MONEY! Results are slow, but rewarding.

17" rims are repainted and have the new Hankook tires installed. 255/45/17 on the rear.... looks nice and wide

The machine shop is dragging on with the manufacturing of the wheel adapters. We did a swap. I painted his 52 morris minor convertable in exchange for building the adapters.

All the suspension parts have been sand blasted, epoxy primed and painted base coat/clear coat. Double yellow...2002 VW/Porsche color.

The under body was painted over the past week as well using a mixture of 3M rockguard and urathane paint. Looks real claen under there now.

I painted the door jams with the doors off the car and have installed the doors and fenders permanently.

The outside of the car is all primed with the tintable primer and ready for final blocking.

The 327 power plant was refreshed last weekend. We stripped the block, degreased it, pressure washed the block, polished the crank, honned the cylinders, installed all new bearings and rings and new oil pump. The heads were ported, new double roller timing chain, blazer cam (COMP CAM) roller tip rockers.

Everthing under the hood is ready for paint once I sand the primer for the top coat. It will take a complete day to do. So many edges and hard to sand areas.

I would love to see it painted and sitting back down on it's sneakers in a months time...we will see.

Stock Porsche tranny and drive tube. All chevy in front of that. Costs of those components are minor compared to the entire swap project.

Oh...I see. Firstly I had taken the center out of the Porsche clutch and inserted it into the center of the chev cluth. The splines had to be modified. This may have worked ,but I scraped that idea because there wasn't 100% meshing of the splines. I have since taken my drive shaft into my machine shop to have it cut and a flange welded to it that will bolt to a chev input shaft that will also have a flange welded to it. This guy is good at this sort of thing...I had him weld an input shaft for my camaro drag car (430 hp) and it has never broken yet.
I will also tell you that I had the drive tube shortened in order for the drive shaft to reach through the chev bell housing the proper depth.
If any one would attempt this swap I would highly recomend buying the kit from AA. I think it is $1500 usd. I haven't spent that much money ....but I have spent a hell of a lot of my time doing this.

AA woudn't stand for AutoAtlanta would it? I would rather drive a Ford Festiva than give them a dime.

AA does stand for Automobile Atlanta. You had a bad experience I take it. I have never had any problems myself with them.

Adam, have you weighed your Chev engine? Just curious how it compares with the stock Porsche set up.
And what kind of boats do you build? I'm just about to start my 40' steel gaff cutter. When I'm finished, I'm pissing off for 10 years.

We just launched a 31 foot steel trawler yaught. The fellow that I was working for was from Ontario (outside Toronto)and he was over looking the completion of one of the 'Cape Horn' vessels here in South West Nova Scotia. He liked it here decided to stay and begin building boats himself. Take a look at the 'Sable Offshore 31' http://www.keenboats.com The website hasn't been updated since the launch...I will get him to do that soon.

All I know about the weight is....I could pick up the Porsche block by myself. I can't even think about doing that to the chev engine.

I will have more pictures soon Joe. I want it painted first.

Here are some pictures of my work to-date.

As you can see there are some major mods around the brake booster area. That is covered when the booster is installed. Also note the notch on the left strut tower. That was done to make room for the brake lines. I had to move it that far over to clear the valve cover!!

You can all see the drive line connected together now. Simple to do.

The transmission, drive tube, bell housing and rear suspension is all back under now. When I get the new chrome base pan for the engine I can install that also. Oh yaeh I need to grind and polish all the stainless steel engine bolts first and bolt the intake, timing chain cover etc.
