Maybe the threaded union has damaged threads or itís a little loose inside the filter housing? Looks like itís replaceable.

Yup, that was it. Started by turning the valve completely counter-clockwise and then made adjustments turning clockwise. Approximately 2 complete turns clockwise got me back to 10psi.

No idea why ...

After finally getting the screens removed I cleaned it up in an ultrasonic cleaner.

CIS pressure (3rd) test results:

Ambient temp | 22C | 72F
System Pressure | 6.0 bar
